Was seeing if I could capture high speed water droplets using my Canon P&S, I know I CAN but need better lighting, the built in flash on this thing although controllable slightly has it`s limits, so I went with this improvised pic of what happens to the water I sprayed after the shot.

Day 22 of my 365 project.

Used flash to get this shot in my basement in the dark. I was going for the capture of the water, I will do this again but in a way that the color would be better and experiment with more lighting and such. was thinking of building my own soft box.

One of my 365 project photos. not happy again with this shot but I do each shot under so many constraints, I try to get best pic with what I have at my disposal. I shall admit now that I have FAILED in m my 365 challenge. I did NOT fire a shot on Thursday due to extreme circumstances. However if I had been paid or expected to take specific shot on request I would have taken it.

I thought I`d go with a different one and had HOPPED I`d be shooting a hockey game on this day but this is about the best I did this day!

Snow plows

Was out for walk with dog this afternoon.
It proved quite difficult to get around the fresh snow and was happy to see these guys.

This is probably going to be my day 15 photo for my 365 project. I still have to go back a couple of days in this project to go thru and choose my photo for that day.

 But I am still on track, and I have already noticed that I`m paying a lot of attention to my surroundings always looking for that next shot!

Day 12 of my 365 project, proud I have not missed a day yet, however not proud of the last 2 days shots.
This is taken in a rush while staff wasn`t paying attention to me. I had a way better shot of a lobster but there was glare on part of the glass that ruined the shot so this is it I guess!

Day 6 of the 365 project. Someone on Flickr informed me what I had just figured out for myself days before...that this should be a 366 project, I`ll be off by a day! lol!

Day eight of my 365 project, although I have done a lot of macro photography and LOVE doing it, I wanted to play with some of my lighting equipment. I learned a LOT in just 10 minutes of playing with it. I was running my Canon DSLR on two different lens`s, this one is with my 55-250mm zoom run out to 250mm with a remote shutter switch and shutter set to bulb. I fire on both curtains in near blackness, allowing time for my strobe to cycle. It is  beside me off to one side a bit on a slightly higher ANGLE using a umbrella. I bore quickly of doing these photos..... .although I love doing them!

from my Flickr stream, going thru the pics in order that they have been viewed the most to least, making some changes that gets them looked at more. just because it`s a old photo, doesn't mean I don`t want people to enjoy it, otherwise i`d just delete it right?

Ironicly, here in Saskatoon most drivers treat the stop signs as yield signs (or suggestions). Maybe this slows more people down?

Day5 of my 365

New toy

Got my birthday present to myself today (a bit early)!!!!

 Ordered a new 24mm f2.8 wide angle lens. Came in today!! Whoohoo!

Haven`t played with it yet :-( My very first Prime lens.

 While I was at my store, I asked if they would price match a sale at Best-Buy on another lens I want. They said sure until I showed them the ad. The boss looks up the lens on the computer and laughs, say nope, the sale is far below actual COST, and there`s no way Best-Buy even planned on stocking any of them. They use the ad to sucker you in then hope you buy something while your there...not leave pissed off like I do. lol.
 I looked at there site online the DAY the sale started and they were "SOLD OUT".

Day 4 of my 365. Was a beutiful day, actualy shot more today but this is the one for today.

P&S high ISO in pitch black

 Was from my shots on walk in the dark alley`s tonight. Thought of using this as my 365 pic but it`s something I`ve done to death, running hi ISO`s. so went with the built in flash. I`m impressed on the next shot, that it focused very well!

Garbage seat

Not an impressive photo, I agree, however part of a 365 project is stepping out of your comfort zone.

  I struggled with using a better photo; that although was better (using the techniques I already have a handle on), I used features of the camera I don`t like much... flash. Not just flash, but in a place were I was still trying to control exposure and focus and I could not see what I`m doing.... was using a P&S !

 Originally saw much better shot but by the time I got a camera it was way too late, so I hunted this pic down.

Also tried to get a shot of some nesting pigeons that hang out at work.... but my the time I zoomed in...I got WAY more details than you want in a photo....crappy.....

First Flickr Photo

 This is the first photo on my FLICKR profile, I`m not sure if it was the first one I EVER posted to Flickr however, and I was also on PhotoBucket before I discovered Flickr. The taken on date is Sept 11 2007.


  This is from my first "real" digital P&S camera. (I had a cheap $75 digital camera that had NO display on it and you could only point it and shoot and hope you got something, )
I`m not saying it`s the best but was just discovering that I could control a LOT of what the camera was doing, and getting better photo`s than the camera...I was hooked by the time this photograph was taken! lol.


  The camera used was a Kodak Easyshare C643. I miss this camera for a carry around (I always carry at least one camera with me.) I put that camera thru hell. Did things to it that there is no WAY I would even THINK of doing to my DLSR!   In the end, after  babying the lens motor (I jammed the lens mechanism with sand! then took it apart and kinda "fixed" it....)  for over a year! I crushed the display screen by accident, and without that on ANY digital camera, your camera becomes just a cheap P&S and pray! Yer screwed...

I can take more than one photo each day but only one is allowed from a day, meaning I have to go out each day and think.
